If you are a first time visitor, you are probably wondering who we are, what we are and why! Put simply, this web site attempts to explain all this. As for the author, let's just say it's an excuse to commit many years of pleasure to a web site, and to say thanks to all those people who made soul music, and in particular, northern soul, popular in Hinckley and keep the music alive today.

Times change, people change, but the one constant in Hinckley seems to be the love of soul music. Whether it be northern soul, Tamla Motown, or any other flavour of soul music you can think of, Hinckley is a haven. Go to any disco, party, wedding, or nightclub, it's there. It's in the blood.

This web site is an attempt to record the history of northern soul music in the town, and play due homage to the people who, over the years, have kept the heart of soul beating. Thanks for your interest, and we hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did creating this web site.

Welcome Back To All Our Old Viewers

Redesigned, updated and now mobile-friendly, welcome to the new incarnation of what used to be the Hinckley Soul Club website. As your humble webmaster has now retired and has time on his hands, it seemed worthwhile to resurrect the website as having a look at what we did 15 years ago (yep, 15 years!) might be a giggle, and perhaps we could even liven things up and get some up to date stuff in! There are some new Local and National Venues to look at, and some of the old ones have been updated, as there's lots more info out on t'internet now! Also, we've just added some new Live Venues tracks, some new Wigan Casino ones from 1978, and a new venue The Painted Lady Alldayer, also from 1978. Hopefully you'll find the re-vamped site interesting and easier to use, so get those Fave Tunes in, sign the Guest Book, vote for your Top Tunes, advertise your Events and get chatting in the Chat Room!
